Meet Our Lactation Consultants...

WHAT IS AN IBCLC?

An IBCLC is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). For birthing families, they are a member of their maternal-child health team. They provide care in a variety of settings, including virtual, phone, in-home, in-hospital, in-clinic or group educations. An IBCLC's preparation and practice is governed by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE.org). They specialize in the clinical management of breastfeeding and are experts in anticipating and preventing breastfeeding issues present throughout the duration (no matter how long) of a family's breastfeeding season.

HOW CAN AN IBCLC HELP ME?

An IBCLC can help you develop an individual breastfeeding care plan to help you overcome breastfeeding challenges, including concerns of infant weight gain, latch issues, severe nipple pain/trauma, supply issues, special feeding issues, fully pumping, preterm infants, maternal health issues, infant health issues, relactation, multiples, etc.

Meet Our Peer Counselors...

WHAT IS A BREASTFEEDING PEER COUNSELOR?

A breastfeeding Peer Counselor is a mother who has a lived experience with breastfeeding their own children and has been trained to support other mothers. They provide peer support and anticipatory guidance to expectant and breastfeeding mothers. Our Peer Counselors have fully breastfeed their own children for at for at least 1 year or longer. They have varying experiences with overcoming breastfeeding challenges, inculding latch/feeding issues, supply concerns, preterm delivery/NICU experience, cesarean birth, returning to work, tandem nursing and much more!

HOW CAN A PEER COUNSELOR SUPPORT ME?

Peer Counselors provide basic lactation education and guidance, both one on one and in group settings. Through thier personal breastfeeding experience, they provide encouragement and couseling for other breastfeeding mothers to help them achieve thier infant feeding goals.
